1. Introduction

Aghani Labs operates the PdfMaster mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

PdfMaster is designed to work without requiring any personal information from you. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.

The only user input we process are the PDF files you select for editing and any text you type into tools such as Watermark, E-Signature, or Page Numbers. This data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

When you use the App, we may collect the following types of information:

• Device model and operating system version
• Device Advertising ID (for ad personalization)
• App version and usage statistics (ad impressions, clicks)
• Approximate location (IP-based, for regional ad targeting)

3. Data We Do Not Collect

PdfMaster explicitly does not collect or process the following:

• Your PDF documents or files: All PDF processing is done locally on your device. We never access, upload, or store your documents.
• App interactions / Analytics: We do not track which tools you use, how often you use them, or your in-app behavior by default.
• Crash logs / Diagnostics: We do not collect crash reports or performance diagnostics.
• Personal identifiers: We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or address.
• Location data: We do not track your GPS location. AdMob may use approximate location at the country/region level.
• Contacts or messages: We do not access your contact list, SMS, or call history.
• Browsing history: We do not track your web browsing activity.
• App Lock PIN: The 6-digit PIN you set to lock the app is stored securely in the device's encrypted storage using flutter_secure_storage. We do not have access to your PIN.
• EXIF metadata from camera captures and image imports: Photos taken with the in-app scanner or selected from your gallery for the Image to PDF tool are processed locally. EXIF data is not extracted, uploaded, or stored by us.
• Image file contents (Image to PDF tool): When you convert images to PDF, the image files are read into app memory, embedded into the PDF, and written to the App's private temporary directory. The originals are never copied, uploaded, or transmitted off-device.
• Development tools: No development or debugging tools are active in production builds of the App.

4. Advertising and Third-Party Services

4.1 Google AdMob

PdfMaster uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect the following data to provide personalized or non-personalized ads:

• Banner Ads: Small ads shown at the bottom of the Home, History, and Favorites screens.
• Interstitial Ads: Full-screen ads shown after every 5 tool completions (approximately every 5 minutes of active use).

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the App's core functionality (all PDF processing is local)
• Save your preferences (theme, favorites, history) locally on your device
• Secure the App with your 6-digit App Lock PIN (stored in encrypted device storage)
• Display relevant advertisements to support the App's ongoing development
• Remember your favorite tools and recent history for quick access

6. Data Storage and Security

6.1 Local Processing

All PDF editing, merging, splitting, compression, conversion, and other processing occurs entirely on your device. Your documents never leave your phone. We do not operate any backend servers for PDF processing.

6.2 Temporary Files

PdfMaster creates temporary output files during processing (e.g., merged PDFs, compressed PDFs, extracted images, watermarked files). These are stored in your device's temporary directory and can be previewed, saved, shared, or deleted using the in-app History feature. The operating system may also clear temporary files automatically over time.

6.3 App Lock Security

If you enable App Lock, your 6-digit PIN is stored using flutter_secure_storage, which uses the Android Keystore system for hardware-backed encryption. The PIN never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.

6.4 Ad Data

Advertising-related data (Advertising ID, approximate location, device info) is transmitted securely via HTTPS to Google's AdMob servers. We do not retain or store this data ourselves.

6.5 Data Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Permissions We Request

PdfMaster requests the following Android permissions:

• Internet: Required for loading advertisements and processing shared PDF files received from other apps.
• Camera: Required to capture photos directly within the Camera Scanner tool. We do not collect or upload camera data; photos are processed locally.
• Read Media Images (Android 13+): Required to select images from your gallery for both the Camera Scanner (gallery import) and the Image to PDF tool, We never upload your images; they are processed on-device only.
• Read External Storage (Android 12 and below): Required to select PDF files from your device storage on older Android versions.
• Write External Storage (Android 10 and below): Required to save processed PDFs to your device storage on older Android versions. Modern Android uses scoped storage and does not require this permission.

8. Receiving PDF Files from Other Apps

PdfMaster can receive PDF files shared from other apps (such as Files, WhatsApp, Gmail, or any app with a "Share" function). When you share a PDF to PdfMaster:

• The PDF file is copied to a temporary location in the App's private storage.
• You are shown a prompt to Preview the PDF or open it in a tool of your choice.
• The temporary copy is automatically deleted when you close the app or clear the History.
• We do not upload, analyze, or retain the shared PDF on any server.

9. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

9.1 General Rights

• Opt-Out of Personalized Ads: Disable personalized advertising in your device settings or Google Ad Settings.
• Delete History: Use the in-app History tab to clear all processed files.
• Clear Local Data: Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data from your device.

9.2 GDPR Rights (for EU/EEA Users)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• The right to access — You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
• The right to rectification — You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate.
• The right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
• The right to restrict processing — You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
• The right to object to processing — You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
• The right to data portability — You have the right to request that we transfer the data to another organization, under certain conditions.
• The right to withdraw consent — Where we rely on your consent to process your personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.

Since all your app data (favorites, history, preferences) is stored locally on your device, you have complete control. Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us at aghani.labs@gmail.com.

9.3 Opting Out of Ads Personalization

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:

• Through your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization)
• Through Google Ads Settings

10. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. U.S. State Age Verification Laws (Texas SB 2420)

In compliance with Texas' App Store Accountability Act (Texas SB 2420) and similar laws in other U.S. states, Google Play may provide our App with age signals indicating a user's age range or parental consent status for users in applicable states.

Since PdfMaster is a general utility app with no age-restricted content, we do not restrict access based on age signals beyond what is required by law. We do not sell or share age signal data with any third parties.

Your information, including personal data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

If you are located outside the United States and choose to use the App, please note that we transfer data to Google LLC in the United States for advertising services (Google AdMob). By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy at this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.

15. Consent and Agreement

By using PdfMaster, you consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms. This App complies with the Google Play Developer Program Policies and all applicable laws and regulations regarding data protection.
